Thank you so much for your support of Hero’s Color Run! It seemed as if everyone had a really great, and colorful, time. Pictures from our event can be found here. We are happy to report that we exceeded our goal of $25,000 raised and Dr. Hogg will be kissing a hog at the Spirit Assembly on Thursday, October 10th!
The grand total raised was $28,586.48. Of that, $26,186.48 was raised by students, their families, and their friends. Donations were received online from 30 states and two countries (United States and Japan). Seventy-seven percent of our student population had at least one donation and 11 classrooms raised 100% of their classroom goal.
The classrooms that were the top earners for their grade levels will earn a special treat of either cookies, popcorn, or popsicles and an additional recess. Congratulations to the following classrooms:
Kindergarten – Team Graham
1st grade – Team Harrel
2nd grade – Team Johnson
3rd grade – Team Stout
4th grade – Team Schaefer
5th grade – Team K. Honn
6th grade – Team Donelson
We also couldn’t have done this event without the amazing support of our sponsors! We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to: Auto Dreams, Code Ninjas, The Law Offices of Taylor and Taylor, Whispering Woods, Inspired by You Jewelry, State Farm Insurance Agent Mark McBride, Wally’s Grill and Drafthouse, SkyZone, Arcade Alley, Freestyle Graphics, and JM Designs, LLC.
The funds raised will be used to help meet the PTA budget. Some of the items our budget provides include: reduced field trip fees as the PTA supplements field trip costs for all students; family events, such as Pastries with Parents and Movie Night; supplies and inflatables for classroom parties; supplies for 6th grade recognition/family picnic; and vouchers for teachers to use for classroom supplies. Our PTA budget also includes a large donation to Hawthorn Hill. This year, the donation will provide tables for the patio outside the art room, more ukuleles for the music room and additional xylophone stands, and a 9 hole disc golf course for P.E. and community use.
Once again, we are so thankful to everyone that donated, everyone that volunteered and cheered on students at Hero’s Color Run, and our community sponsors. We look forward to celebrating how we made a difference at our Spirit Assembly on October 10th when we will witness Dr. Hogg kissing a hog and draw names for our raffle prizes!
